Two supermarkets launch huge 50% off toy sale ahead of Christmas

While Christmas is still a few months away, those looking to save money on gifts and spread the cost out will be pleased to know that two major supermarkets are running toy sales. If you want to get your hands on brands like LEGO, Hot Wheels, Barbie, Monster High and XShot to fill Christmas stockings for your loved ones, then look no further.

Tesco has launched its pre-Christmas toy sale, offering parents “half price or better” savings. The sale is brought to customers by The Entertainer Toy Shop, the supermarket’s toy partner, and it will run under November 2.

More than 200 toys have their prices slashed in more than 260 stores nationwide. In addition to the cost cuts, there are further Clubcard Price deals on offer for Clubcard members.

Examples of toys you can get in the deal include Twister Air Game, which is reduced from £15 to £7.50; Gabby’s Dollhouse Party Room Playset down from £33 to £16.50; and Smashers Dino Island Jurassic Egg being sold for £25, down from £50.

Pauline Chisholm, Tesco’s head of strategy and partnerships, said: “There will be exciting toys for children of all ages with plenty of choice in the most popular categories including pre-school items, dolls, collectables, vehicles, plush and games. We hope this early Christmas sale will help people spread the cost of the festive season and also pick up some great offers.”

Morrisons is also putting on a toy sale for More Card users which will run until October 26th. Examples of toys in the deal include a Bluey Racing Set down to £24 from £50; LEGO Elphaba and Glinda Figures, now £37.50 down from £50; and Hot Wheels City Stunt Garage, being sold for £20 down from the original £40.

Discussing the deals, David Catton, Morrisons’ senior trader of toys, said: “As we count down to the big day, we hope our toy sale will help customers spread the cost of Christmas gift purchasing.

"Our toy sale has become a key moment in the calendar for families looking to get great value on must-have gifts, including sought-after brands. This year we’re excited to be stocking our shelves even higher with popular sets from the likes of Barbie, LEGO, Hot Wheels and more.”

B&M is also offering massive discounts on toys in its ‘2 for £20’ sale. Included in the sale are toys like Gabby’s Dollhouse Playset, Spongebob Squarepants Pinball Machine, Barbie Pool Playset, and Bluey Pool Time Playset.

Also included are toys like the Hello Kitty Colour Your Own Accessory Set, Squishmallows LED Light Up Crystal Canvas, Paw Patrol Snappy Pups, Pet Pal Playset, Disney Princess Baby Doll, and a Monster Truck Chaos Arena.
