A disturbing case of blackmail and harassment has surfaced from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. A woman has accused her husband and in-laws of continuous dowry harassment and shocking misconduct. According to her complaint, her husband allegedly drugged her, recorded an obscene video without her consent, and is now demanding ₹10 lakh in exchange for deleting it.
The victim, who lives in the Gorakhnath police station area, reached the police station in tears, pleading for justice. She told officers, “Sir, my husband made an obscene video of me. When I asked him to delete it, he demanded ₹10 lakh.”
The woman further revealed that her husband, who works in a factory in Sitapur, is allegedly having an affair with a co-worker. “He wants to marry that woman and has been torturing me to force me out of his life,” she said.
According to the complaint, her husband devised a plan to trap her. One day, he allegedly mixed an intoxicant in her food, making her unconscious, and then filmed the objectionable video. Since then, he has been blackmailing her, threatening to make the clip viral on social media if she fails to pay the demanded amount.
The woman also mentioned that her in-laws had been demanding dowry and mistreating her since marriage. In 2016, after repeated abuse and a Panchayat intervention, a written settlement was reached, but the harassment continued.
