Kanpur News: A very shocking incident has come to light in Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. Where a young man remained a fake policeman for 10 years, first he called himself a constable, then became a sub-inspector and intimidated people, got married and kept cheating people of lakhs of rupees. The most surprising thing is that his in-laws and villagers also considered him a real sub-inspector, but now his truth has come out and he has reached jail.
The fraud started in 2015.
This whole case started in the year 2015. A young man named Azad Singh Jadoun is a resident of Kaushambi. He called himself a police constable and started living in a room near a police station. He used to wear uniform every day, go out and intimidate people. People started believing him to be a real policeman.
In 2020 he declared himself as a 'Sub-Inspector'.
Five years later, in 2020, he got promoted and declared himself as a Sub-Inspector. He got a new uniform stitched, got a badge installed and started telling people that he is now a Sub-Inspector. After this, he started stopping vehicles, extorting money from people and taking money in the name of getting them a job in the police.
Married on a fake status
In 2019, Azad Singh married Sujata, the daughter of Jaiveer Singh of Amoli village (Sajeti). The in-laws were completely sure that their daughter was getting married to a responsible police officer. Azad always came wearing a uniform and said that he has been put on special investigation, so he does not go to the police station. Wife Sujata was also sure that her husband is a real inspector. She never doubted it.
Azad made his brother-in-law an accomplice.
He also included his brother-in-law, Saurabh Singh in this fraud. He made him his follower and started extorting money by taking him in the car. Saurabh also felt that his brother-in-law was a real police inspector, so he blindly supported him for five years.
The story of cheating kept on increasing and
Azad's courage kept on increasing. Now he would stop vehicles on the road, pretend to issue challan, lure people with the promise of getting them recruited in the police and cheat them of lakhs of rupees. His in-laws and villagers were also proud of him and saluted him by calling him Daroga sahab.
A mistake exposed the truth
Recently, a theft incident took place in Sajeti area. When SHO Awadhesh Singh came to investigate, the villagers told him that a sub-inspector extorts money here and stops vehicles. When the SHO checked the papers, he found out that no sub-inspector by that name was posted there. He inquired at Etawah police station where Azad claimed to be posted – it was confirmed that he was never a sub-inspector.
The arrest happened when the truth came out.
The police called Azad Singh to the police station. He reached there in full uniform with his brother-in-law Saurabh. The police officer found something fishy in his statements. When the house was searched, fake uniforms, belts, police badges and other items were found there. During interrogation, Azad revealed the truth.
Now behind the bars
The police have arrested Azad and his brother-in-law Saurabh. The investigation revealed that he had been cheating people for ten years by posing as a fake constable since 2015 and a fake inspector since 2020. Police station in-charge Awadhesh Singh said that Azad's biggest trick was that he never went to the police station, he used to say that he was on special duty.
Big shock to in-laws and villagers
When this truth came out, there was a stir in the in-laws' house and the village. Sujata's father Jaiveer Singh said that we were proud that our daughter has gone to the house of a police inspector. Now we understand that we were deceived. The villagers are also surprised. Everyone believes that everyone became blind after seeing the uniform. No one felt the need to see the papers or the real identity.
