They were planning a major crime on Diwali night, but Jaipur police foiled their plans and arrested five criminals

Rajasthan News: On October 20, 2025, the Jaipur Crime Branch arrested five armed criminals in Transport Nagar who were planning a robbery and murder of rivals on Diwali night. Three pistols, 15 rounds of ammunition, a taxi and an autorickshaw were recovered from Ramnath, Udaybhan, Rambhan, Ramkumar, and Santoshi. Police are investigating.

Jaipur: The Jaipur Crime Branch arrested five armed criminals in a raid in Transport Nagar. They had come to Jaipur planning a robbery on Diwali night. Police seized three country-made pistols, 15 rounds of live ammunition, a taxi with Maharashtra registration number, and an autorickshaw used for reconnaissance. Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph stated that the operation was based on a tip-off from an informant. The accused had even planned to kill anyone who resisted during the robbery.

The arrested criminals include Ramnath (32) and Udaybhan alias Gabbar (34), residents of Sadar Dholpur, Rambhan (37), resident of Gaddi Baj Bharatpur, Ramkumar alias Funkata (35), resident of Sadar Dholpur, and Santoshi alias Bhura (32), resident of Dhimri Dholpur. Santoshi drives an autorickshaw in Jaipur and had conducted recce in posh areas. He provided information about the targeted houses to his associates.

Planning and Reiki

Police investigations revealed that the criminals had planned to target three or four houses in posh areas of Jaipur. Santoshi gathered information about the houses by conducting daytime reconnaissance in an autorickshaw. The attack was planned for the night of Diwali. The plan also included the killing of those who resisted. Police took timely action, averting a major incident.

Investigation and action

Police investigations are expected to yield further revelations. As of 8:16 p.m., the accused are being rigorously interrogated. The Commissioner stated that vigilance will be increased to thwart such plots. Additional police forces have been deployed in the area due to the tension.
