Netflix is currently streaming a children's sitcom that fans believe was 'ahead of its time'. Nickelodeon's iCarly premiered in 2007 and launched Miranda Cosgrove, Jennette McCurdy and Nathan Kress to international stardom.
The Dan Schneider programme centres on teenager Carly Shay (Cosgrove), who starts a web series alongside her mates Sam (McCurdy) and Freddie (Kress).
As their online show transforms into an internet sensation, the trio must balance typical teenage challenges with their sudden celebrity status.
Though the programme was predominantly cheerful, it also explored important topics including internet culture realities and friendship difficulties, reports the Mirror.
The comedy proved enormously successful throughout its five-year broadcast, securing seven Emmy Award nominations altogether. It also received a BAFTA Children's Award nomination for Best International programme in 2010.

Furthermore, the comedy regularly competed at the Kids' Choice Awards, determined by young viewers' votes.
The Nickelodeon original is still a fan favourite more than ten years after its debut. Writing on IMDb, one recent critic raved: "Such a nostalgic and fun show! Provides you with so many laughing moments!"
Another added: "Ahead of its time... If you're like me and haven't watched it in several years, I recommend you do so. If this show started in 2019, it would be 10x better than it is. Ahead of its time for sure!"
Someone else praised: "One of the greatest Nick sitcoms ever. It's a hilarious show and great for families to watch together. The cast has great chemistry too and I still love this show very much."
Another fan chimed in: "The whole mood of the episodes are nice and funny, and like any good piece of art, it is propelled by the characters."
While a fifth recommended: "If anyone ever wants to calm down, relax, and watch a little light hearted TV, this is the show. I recommend it to anyone interested in relaxation."
And a final fan vouched for the show's legacy, writing: "This show will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart!"
