Over 1000 people were killed in a massive landslide in Sudan 's western Darfur region late Monday, a rebel group that controls the area said. It added that only one survivor has been found.
The Sudan Liberation Movement/Army said that a "massive and devastating landslide" hit the village of Tarasin in the Marra mountains on Sunday.
It added, "Initial information indicates the death of all village residents, estimated to be more than one thousand individuals, with only one survivor."
